Local overview — Barcelona
Barcelona and the metropolitan area (Hospitalet, Badalona, Sabadell, Terrassa) offer many schools. Confirm whether you want theory support in Catalan and/or Spanish, and verify official exam language options.
Use free TeoriaPass practice in Catalan/Spanish/English understanding modes, then lock Spanish exam wording before booking.
How many schools in Barcelona?
Like other Spanish cities, Barcelona has a shifting private market. Rather than inventing a fixed number, shortlist 3–5 schools within a realistic travel radius and compare them with the checklist below. Ask recent students (not only ads) about instructor patience, car condition and hidden fees.
Maximum useful comparison checklist
- Theory support: classroom hours, PDFs, school mocks — then keep unlimited free MCQ practice on TeoriaPass.
- Practical package: hours included, extra-hour price, manual vs automatic, cancellation policy.
- Languages: Spanish plus English or other languages if you need them.
- Schedule: evenings/weekends for workers and students.
- Exam proximity: which centres/routes they commonly use.
- Admin help: guidance for medical certificate and paperwork (still verify on DGT/sede).
- Contract: written total price, expiry of hours, refund rules.
City-specific tips for Barcelona
- Catalan/Spanish theory preference
- Hills and narrow street practical routes
- Coastal vs inland exam logistics

Suggested study combo
- Daily free practice on TeoriaPass (topics + mocks).
- Read Spain licence guidelines and the matching permit guide.
- Book practical hours at a local school once theory mocks pass with margin.
- Keep official appointments only via DGT / sede — never via random unofficial brokers.
Red flags
- Pressure to pay large cash sums without a clear contract.
- Promises of a “guaranteed pass”.
- No transparent extra-hour pricing.
- Claims to be the DGT or a government office.
- Pushing you to skip theory practice — you can practise theory free here.
